Reca Sarfati

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), expected to graduate in Spring 2026. My primary field of research is econometrics, with an emphasis on statistical methods for credible causal inference in applied work. More broadly, my work seeks to identify and correct sources of selection and model-induced bias at each stage of the research pipeline, building pragmatic, constructive solutions for applied economists to protect inferential validity without constraining the exploratory analysis necessary for scientific progress.

I will be joining the UNSW Business School as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of Economics in September 2026.
